The Country Christmas Shoppe was opened on July 24th, 2004 by William H. Patterson, his wife Jayne V. Maitland and their four children: Sarah, Lily, Storm and Thorne. Their journey started five years earlier as a result of years of visiting other gift shops in the Ottawa Valley and beyond, taking note of the positives and negatives of each shop along the way. They realized that they needed more than just another gift shop, it had to be a destination for the whole family!

What they needed was an appealing surrounding that would provide them with the foundation to build their dream shoppe and destination. Their prayers were answered when they found a 12 acre estate at 201 Kilmarnock Road, near Jasper, Ontario. With a lot of tender loving care, the property now has gorgeous gardens, an assortment of friendly animals, guest house and over a kilometre of walking trails through full grown pine trees.

The 1500 square foot shoppe is built with turn of the century architecture and decor with wooden floors, roman columns, a fireplace, etc adding to the rustic country charm. Bill and Jayne have invested over six months of nights and weekends on renovations and improvements, achieving a stunning destination.

The shoppe carries a wide variety of unique, limited edition gift items for all occasions including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and holidays, all available with the joys of Christmas atmosphere the year 'round! Weather permitting, the friendly animals zoo, gardens, picnic areas and trails are available for your family's enjoyment. The shoppe also features a number of customer appreciation events throughout the year with free food, drinks and a number of activities!
